Ivan Black's kinetic sculptures
At the hands of the English artist, Ivan Black, metal wires are magically transformed into kinetic sculptures, poetry of nature and its motion, a territory to be actively discovered.

Minimal materials, with a preference for metal wire, take shape and acquire sufficient energy to dance in fluid and hypnotic movements. They recall Calder's work yet in an all-original formulation which, aside from the maestro, is inspired by the laws that govern nature, from molecules to the movement of the planets.

Born in London, he studied at Middlesex University. Ever since he was a child, he has dreamed of becoming a sculptor. Now his dream has come true and Ivan has opened his studio in Pembrokeshire, in Wales.

In the flexibility and light of metal, Black has found the ideal tool to recreate compositions inspired by the movement of the celestial bodies and by the molecular world, like the helix shape of DNA. The modular repetitions in these geometric shapes are the same ones that govern the natural universe. Don't just sit back and watch. Black's sculptures invite you to interact with them. You will be the ones to bring them to life through magical movements, those of nature.
