When the Super Model is in Papier-mâché
Iron wire, papier-mâché and vivacious colours. French artist Lauren Freyermuth needs little to create her Mistinguettes, sculptures of women in dynamic poses bursting with energy from every wire.
.jpg)
Lauren's approach is spontaneous, uninhibited, without taboo, like her models, one-of-a-kind pieces that seem to have shot naturally out of the frenetic hands of a hyperactive child. This is how the Mistinguette female characters, all one with their strange ornaments and flexible poses, are created.

Lauren's characters are constantly moving figures and full of life. At the bottom of this vitality is a structure in iron wire and rubber the artist works various types of paper on as if they were volumes to sculpt and paint later on.
.jpg)
Divided between family life and work for several years, the French artist has reconciled these two commitments with a job as spokesperson on the figurative arts.
.jpg)
Above the pedestals supporting her female models we notice an original flick. A predisposition of her papier-mâché models for interacting with the fashion world, leaving the zone of catwalks and, why not, becoming a new language for communicating fashion articles.

Queste figure (vero! sprizzano energia da ogni filo) richiamano la leggerezza potente delle"sculture" di Fausto Melotti, fatte quasi d'aria più che di materia. Avvincono.
