"Era di Maggio" by Roberto Capucci
A tribute to the month of buds par excellence, flower buds in particular, but also buds of fashion. The "Era di Maggio" (May Era) show exhibited 11 sculpture-garments made by maestro Roberto Capucci at Palazzo Corsini.

A commemorative exhibition where each garment is animated thanks to the teaming of creative thinking, fashion and art, where pleats and flowers come to life owing to enchanting geometries and colour combinations.

The Roman stylist and artist, "the best creator of Italian fashion" according to Christian Dior, decided to focus on haute couture alone in the 1980s: garments that are works of art, presented in a single collection each year, in a different city each time.

Traditional craftsmanship, original style, a passion for beauty and ongoing experimentation. Capucci, ambassador of Italian creativity across the world, has no doubts when it comes to listing the basic principles of Italian fashion.

These are the core values of the Roberto Cappucci Foundation which was set up in 2005 and which, together with the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica (Italian National Ancient Art Gallery) in Palazzo Corsini, proposed an exhibition of garments where the fabrics are sculpted according to geometries, cuts and lines that afford floral suggestions on haute couture.
