Since 1/1/11 he’s been producing a new graphic illustration every day. Quite an ambitious project for designer Brock Lefferts, who with a psychedelic trip a day keeps (even our) boredom away.

The mind-expanding experiments of the psychedelic movement have been widely discussed. And we also know that this movement started around Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco and has disseminated ideas that have stimulated art from the 60s up to today.

We’re talking about artists such as Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Stanley Mouse & Alton Kelley and Wes Wilson. And later others were inspired by psychedelic-styled graphics, such as Mati Klarwein and Hipgnosis, who are the minds behind the masterpiece cover art of albums by Miles Davis and Pink Floyd.

Today we discover the blog of a young graphic designer from Flagstaff, Arizona (USA). Since the first day of January 2011, Brock has surprised us daily with a personal palette that mixes an ethereal design with traits of classic psychedelic and optical art: saturation, symmetry, fractals, collages, distortions and chromatic fluctuations.

Brock Lefferts no doubt provides our retinas with much stimulating material. Who knows whether, as the founding fathers of the movement would say, it will help us “free our mind”.
