'Ari in Paris, with Lancia Ypsilon' by Maurizio Galimberti
At the end of September Maurizio Galimberti added another tile to his mosaic of photographic works, by capturing the new Lancia Ypsilon in the autumnal light of Paris.
Accompanied by model Arianna ("Ari") Grimoldi, Maurizio transports us into a visual tale with his unique style: painting images through Polaroid pictures, using photos like brushstrokes that become a harmonious collage.
In his latest compositions we see the Eiffel Tower challenging the sky, Place Vendôme suspended between clouds and obelisks, and her, still and dreamy, while elegance pervades her like a perfume or music.
Polaroid photos have accompanied Galimberti along his entire expressive path, from single images to photographic mosaics of people, buildings and symbolic architectures of different European cities.
Once again, elegance becomes the connective threat that illuminates each piece with a surprising light. It becomes the aesthetic element that traverses the city and goes beyond it, transporting the observer as if in a dream. And for a moment, we hear Prévert's "chanson", while the Seine flows along, indifferent to the beauties and lovers of Paris.
