Collages from the underground

Details enhanced by chaos, revisitations that smell of cubism and impressionism, with dabs of dada and pop art. Here’s the latest series of collages by underground artist Claudio Parentela.

He has always been self-sufficient, ever since his first disarticulated, hallucinogenic story published on the zine "Stripburger" in 1997.

A DIY zine, meaning an alternative, underground and self-financed publication. Something that is still relatively unknown in Italy and that feeds off of industrial, noise and punk culture.

Claudio is part of that energetic squadron of creative Italians that live in the province and are more appreciated abroad than in their homeland.

Claudio believes in a process of constant remixing: the natural evolution of reality that surrounds and engulfs us, leaving a permanent state of shock.

Reassembled pieces, and how could it be otherwise when speaking of collages? They ride the contemporary wave of schizophrenia. Like gigantic fractals, infinitesimal holograms of his mind, these works seem to narrate our lives.
