Comfortable and fortuitous: 'Accident Stool' by Hye Jeong Cheon

"Eureka!", must have said young Korean designer Hye Jeong Cheon, when she discovered what happens when you mix urethane, color and another secret ingredient in water.

The result is called "Accident Stool", a stool with the surreal appearance of a lumpy glob of ink, frozen in its liquid and unpredictable movement.

"When the three elements are joined in water", Hye explains, "it generates a fluid form that is determined by the force of gravity and hydrostatics, I capture it by hand when I deem it right".

This process gave shape to "Accident Stool", Hye Jeong Cheon's graduate project at Sangmyung University in Seoul. Folowing her debut in the field of furniture, the Korean designer is now already thinking about expanding her experiences into art-design, branding and creative direction.
