"Go to the Fine Teatime", haute couture goes Zen with Bona Kim
Protocol dictates that tea be served with delicate and precise gestures and great attention to objects and guests. In her graduate collection "Go to the Fine Teatime", fashion designer Bona Kim accompanies us with courtesy along garments, accessories and refined detailing inspired by the beauty and decorative aspect of the fundamental object for the rite of tea: the teapot.
A milky white dominates the entire collection, a neutral tone, chosen to accent the delicate surfaces of the garments, on which emerge refined details and textures of different fabrics.
"Go to the Fine Teatime", presented by Bona Kim at London College of Fashion 2013 on completing her Master in Fashion Design and Technology – Womenswear, is addressed to an exclusive market. Signs of that are the sophisticated metallic thread embroidery, decorations and three dimensional motifs, that blend the exquisite craftsmanship of haute couture with an aesthetic that references Zen philosophy.
