The City of Angels shines from Hopen Place, a villa designed by Whipple Russell Architects on the Hollywood hills, where 50s architecture meets 21st century whimsy.

Maintaining a veiled reference to the structure of the classic villa, but modernizing its paradigms with contemporary hues, materials, textures, light and water.

This the primary objective of the Los Angeles studio. As well as designing an avant-garde aesthetic that would allow the client to resell the house within 2 years.

The residence covers a surface of 43,056 square feet and counts 4 bedrooms with wide glass walls that offer a scintillating view of the Sunset Strip.

As well as a kitchen, living room, studio and five bathrooms with tubs. All spaces that allow access to outdoor areas (terrace, garden, patio and pools) through ceiling-high glass sliders that open onto the metropolitan skyline.

Calm elegance and functionality embrace the whims of the owner, which are evident in the choice of sculptures and in the use of water, completely integrated into the structure itself: from the infinity pool to the reflecting ponds and wet-edge waterfall along the path to the home theatre.
