Thermalbad Zurich: Spa overlooking the city

There’s a strange vapor coming from former brewery Hürlimann in Zurich. It’s not the exhalation of malted barley but that of the thermal waters that run above and below the vaults, now part of a spa and wellness center.

Thermalbad & Spa in Zurich is one of the largest thermal bath and spa centers in Switzerland and was created as an industrial redevelopement project converting a brewery built at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Some architectural elements of the stone cellar have been conserved and adapted into pools in which the guests can swim both inside the former industrial complex and in the open air.

The roof has been transformed into a scenic infinity-edge pool, with waters that can reach a temperature of 106 degrees, and from which you can admire the spectacular skyline of Zurich.

The water flows directly from the Aqui source of the Helvetian capital. There’s a choice of emerald baths, pools for meditation with underwater music, Kneipp baths, Irish-Roman spas, massages and saunas.

For all those in the vicinity, the admission ticket is another reason to take a relaxing detour towards Thermalbad & Spa, with prices starting at 26 or 35 euros.
