This self initiated brief was the product of a desire to combine linear, solid lines and a sense of openness into a typeface. The mood of this font is inspired by the gentle rivets of the ocean, subtlety of white on white and cleanliness of space. By Lancia TrendVisions Bureau

Ischia is a mosaic of colours from Southern Italy, the gulf of Naples and island life scented with rosemary. In this moodboard, close ups and details tighten the diaphragm around ceramics adorned with typographical characters, graphic and formal motifs. They tell of an all-Neapolitan art naïf, where cheer, vivacity, passion, authenticity and tradition liaise in a plateau of iridescent and intense colours.

In 1969 man went to the moon. Now we’re still facinated by any visual language that evocates the world of Sience Fiction and High-Tech. “Let’s prepaire for Mars!” Postwar futurism all started with the “invaders from Mars” histeria in the fifties right up to the space-hipies from the sixty’s, glamrock from the seventy’s and last but not least, the disco-trash from the early eighties. And today it al seems to come back with a brand new revival of... the eighties.
